Jeff Kay is the Suggestaholic. Since late 2000 he’s lorded over a popular, yet somewhat questionable, internet exercise known as The West Virginia Surf Report! And for most of his adult life he’s lived a filthy lie.
Blessed (cursed?) with almost miraculous good taste, Jeff learned at an early age to suppress his urges. He’d often lie awake at night wishing he lived in a world where he was free to make suggestions, and share the wealth, without being branded a snob or a know-it-all, or causing his friends to hide behind couches and mutter, “I’m not at home… I’m not at home….”
It was exhausting work, this denial of incredible, oceanic gifts, and something was bound to give. Now it’s happened. The website you’re holding in your hands is testament to the fact Jeff is but a mere human, with standard human limitations.
Here you’ll find his infuriatingly accurate recommendations for music, books, movies, television shows, and whatever else strikes his fancy. These suggestions are always honest, true, and without pretension.
And the Suggestaholic couldn’t be more ashamed.
